NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Last summer, DaimlerChrysler introduced the Chrysler 300 SRT8, a more powerful version of the already formidable Chrysler 300C luxury sedan.

Dodge Magnum SRT8

For those looking for something in a station wagon, the company is unveiling the Dodge Magnum SRT8 at the Los Angeles Auto Show today. Like its sedan cousin, the Magnum SRT8 has a 6.1-liter, 425 horsepower "Hemi" engine. The most powerful version of the Magnum currently is the RT, which has a 5.7-liter, 340 horsepower Hemi engine.

The Magnum SRT8 will go from zero to 60 miles per hour in something close to 5 seconds, according to DaimlerChrysler and will run a quarter mile in a little under 14 seconds.

The wagon has a five-speed automatic transmission with a specially calibrated driver-selectable "AutoStick" feature. Its suspension has also been specially tuned to deal with the added power of the engine. The SRT8 rides about a half-inch lower than a standard Magnum on 20-inch wheels with high-performance tires.

In addition to a front air dam, cooling ducts have been integrated into the front of the wagon to direct air to cool the car's front brakes.

Inside, faux carbon-fiber is used on the steering wheel and center stack. The bolstered front seats have suede inserts to help hold occupants in place during hard cornering.

No pricing has been announced for the Dodge Magnum SRT8. The base price of a Chrysler 300 SRT8 is $39,995, about $7,000 more than the Chrysler 300C powered by the company's 5.7 liter Hemi engine. The base price of a Dodge Magnum RT is about $30,000.
