Gap tries on Visa cardClothing retailer and GE Money announce a partnership to offer a new credit card to customers.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- General Electric's consumer lending unit GE Money announced Monday that it will offer a Visa credit card to customers of the clothing retailer Gap Inc. GE (Charts, Fortune 500) Money said the partnership with Gap (Charts, Fortune 500) will allow cardholders to earn rewards at all Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy stores. Customers will also receive special cardholder offers, advance notice of sale events, and exclusive online shipping. The Visa card will be issued by GE Money Bank and marketed to existing Gap customers. The company also said it will continue to provide private label credit card programs for Gap through 2013. The Gap, which competes with Abercrombie & Fitch Co (Charts), J. Crew Group Inc. (Charts), and American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (Charts), currently offers private label credit cards through GE Money. |
