Gas prices inch higher
Nationwide average price of regular unleaded edges higher to $3.261 a gallon, according to AAA survey.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Gas prices edged higher Wednesday, according to a widely followed survey from motorist group AAA.
The nationwide average price of regular unleaded gasoline rebounded to $3.261, up from $3.255 a gallon Tuesday.
Gas prices have trended lower since hitting an all-time high of $3.285 a gallon on March 16, according to AAA's Web site.
The cost of diesel fell about a tenth of a cent to $4.027, according to AAA. Over the past few days, diesel fuel has been hovering near its all-time high of $4.037, which it hit on March 22.
Hawaii surpassed California to lead the nation with the highest gas prices at an average of $3.642 a gallon. California gas remains high at a price of $3.624. Gasoline in Missouri, Minnesota and New Jersey trailed with prices under $3.10 a gallon.
The AAA report is a daily survey conducted for the group by Oil Price Information Service.
