The Hybrid market
The Hybrid market
Hybrid vehicles are hot. You've probably heard it can be hard to find them in showrooms. Some dealers are even getting mark-ups over the sticker price.

But that's not true for all hybrids. If you're in the market for an SUV, you might be in for a wait. But if you're looking for a car, several choices are relatively easy to find.

To get a sense of what things are really like out there, we checked several sources. We looked at time-to-sell figures from J.D. Power and Associates as well as inventory figures provided by some of the manufacturers . We also looked at total February sales of each vehicle, using data suppled by R.L. Polk.

Finally, we asked moderators of two on-line discussion boards, HybridCars.com and CarSpace.com, to give ys the buzz on what their members were saying about their shopping and buying experiences.

With high demand - meaning manufacturers are selling hybrids as fast as they can make them - sales numbers are actually the best indicator of how easy vehicle are to find. The ones that are easiest to find, for the most part, sell best - and vice versa.
