Trying to stay optimistic

I am a wife and mother of two with a degree in communications. My professional experience is in broadcast media and I've been unemployed since April. I had a baby in February and spoke to them about going part time and they opted to not take that. I decided to leave then so I could spend more time at home and explore other options.
I began to feel extremely discouraged after realizing that automation has robbed many radio personalities of their jobs. I was looking for something in radio, ideally as a radio personality, but that doesn't exist anymore. I applied for other things in radio, and then I started applying for marketing positions. Then I started taking classes for Web design. I have an internship, which is odd at my age.
Recently I was propositioned by a high school marketing group to become their senior project -- helping me find a job! They are helping me try and narrow down what would be best suited for me. They have to come up with concepts. I'm just trying to be optimistic about the whole thing -- that something will lead to something I'm comfortable with.
