Electric trucks prepare for delivery

Navistar

Navistar's electrically-driven delivery truck is, as you can probably tell by looking at it, designed and built from the start as an electric vehicle.

With help from $39 million Department of Energy Grant, Navistar plans to deploy 400 of these trucks in the first year of production.

Navistar boasts of the truck's near-silent operation -- true of most electric trucks -- making it ideal for night-time and early morning deliveries. A particular advantage of this truck, Navistar also says, is its tight turning circle, great for navigating tight city streets.
