First job: Administrator

Second job: Standardized patient

Why I do it: I have two regular part-time jobs plus I take other jobs as well as they come up. Two days a week I do billing and file insurance claims for a therapist.

Two days a week I am a standardized patient, portraying an illness for a clinical skills test. I work in a hospital gown and slippers all day. I see 12 student doctors who have to diagnose me. Weird gig, but it gives me health insurance.

Intermittently I shoot headshots for people -- professors, realtors, actors, lawyers, business people. What I live on is half of what I used to make but I'm grateful for these jobs.
