Finding LeBron a home

Another contender for LeBron's signature is the New Jersey -- soon to be Brooklyn -- Nets. If he signed with them, he could still live in Manhattan and do the short dribble to Newark. There's even a subway: the Hudson River Path train.

It's not all about James, however, according to Diane Ramirez, CEO of Halstead, a real estate brokerage.

She pointed out that everyone focuses on LeBron but he does have a family -- his long-time girlfriend and their two young children. "You want a place where they can be comfortable," said Ramirez.

Ramirez points out that James would be on the road much of the season while his family spends most of their time at home. They might prefer one of New Jersey's affluent suburbs. She mentioned Short Hills and the Englewood area, where many music, show biz and sports personalities have lived. Think Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Sean Combs and Johnny Damon.
