Take Vail's smart lift ticket is equipped with a chip that tracks your runs and locates family and friends. There's also a raft of fresh gear and apparel to try. So shop on, but plan ahead.
Resort managers from Vermont to Colorado say bookings are higher than last year, as the ski industry continues to rebound. "The best deals will be offered earlier," says Rob Katz, CEO of Vail Resorts.
