TripsQ, a subset of data visualization company Mapize , is a recently launched project that helps people keep track of the trail of data they create while traveling.
Built on Foursquare's API, the service turns check-ins into data points. Check into an airport and TripsQ will track and visualization the number of miles you've traveled -- and the amount of CO2 produced during your trip.
"Nowadays users generate the craziest amount of data," CEO FX Cardi says. "We tried to help them improve their travel experience by analyzing and visualizing this information automatically."
The project, which is self-funded, has added 3,000 users in the last few weeks. Cardi says his crew is working to add integrations that will help travelers track the distance they walk during trips, using a service called Fitbit, and the weight they've gained or lost while traveling, through a Withings hookup.
