Oracle CEO Larry Ellison is now the proud owner of Hawaii -- well, at least, part if it. The state's governor confirmed on Thursday that Ellison purchased about 98% of Lana'I, Hawaii's sixth largest island.
The techie joins the ranks of moguls like Richard Branson, whose private tropical getaway, Necker Island, can be rented exclusively for $53,000 a night. Maybe those at Facebook and Instagram can take their new fortunes and buy a piece of paradise.
You don't have to work at Oracle or Apple to be among the top-paid executives in the technology industry, but it helps.
