Tourism in Thailand grew 19.2% in 2015, despite a deadly terrorist attack in Bangkok in August.

A bombing in the popular Erawan Shrine killed 22 people, including tourists.

"For Thailand to grow by 19% over 2015 ... given that they had the bombing, is quite extraordinary," Scowsill said.

He said putting more security in place in tourist areas helped to win back visitors.
