(FORTUNE Magazine) – News reports ((describe)) negotiations . . . between Duke University's men's basketball coach, Mike Krzyzewski, and Nike, the athletic-shoe manufacturer . . . It has been common practice among big-name coaches . . . to have personal contracts with sneaker companies . . . Mr. Krzyzewski's contract with Adidas . . . runs out in September . . . The Raleigh News and Observer quoted ''one source close to the negotiations'' as saying that Nike is prepared to give Mr. Krzyzewski a $1 million signing bonus and a salary worth about $375,000 a year, plus stock options, in exchange for a 15-year contract.
