NEW MBAS: NASTY BY NATURE
By

(FORTUNE Magazine) – Okay, so maybe most of them aren't as vicious as the Uberbitch played by TV actress Heather Locklear on Melrose Place. But the latest crop of MBAs does seem a trifle...aggressive. When Cornell University recently asked 250 big-company executives and 250 business school students what traits they thought make a great leader, most veteran managers said bosses needed to work harder at addressing social issues like diversity, the environment, and balancing work and family. The students, on the other hand, said leaders should be "results oriented," and 60% said they admired slash-and-burn downsizers like Chainsaw Al Dunlap. Yikes!
