Finance: The Musical!
By Christopher Tkaczyk

(FORTUNE Magazine) – Well, you can say one thing about Rosie O'Donnell: She puts her money where her mouth is. She footed the entire $10 million bill for her recently opened Broadway musical Taboo and voiced her intentions to keep the curtain up through January, which could cost $10 million more. Critics panned the Boy George vehicle--yes, Rosie, it seems they do really want to hurt you--and ticket sales have been tepid (keep in mind that the average Broadway musical has $431,000 in weekly expenses). Here's a look at how Rosie's stint on the Great White Way rates against other celebrity-backed hits--and misses. --Christopher Tkaczyk
