Today Idaho Bancorp (OTCBB: IDBC) announced the
appointment of John S. Simko to the Board of Directors of Idaho Banking
Company and its holding company, Idaho Bancorp. "On February 28, 2008, The
Board of Directors of Idaho Bancorp appointed Mr. Simko as a director of
both entities," said Tom Morgan, Chairman of the Board. "We are extremely
pleased that Mr. Simko has agreed to serve as director given his extensive
professional background and breadth of corporate law he'll impart in his
role as director."
Mr. Simko is a partner of Moffatt Thomas Barrett Rock & Fields, Chtd. The
firm is general counsel to the Company and the Bank. Prior to joining the
firm in 2002, he spent seven years as Senior Vice President and General
Counsel of Sunshine Mining and Refining Company, and ten years as Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer, retiring in 2001 to re-enter the private
practice of law. Mr. Simko was Commissioner of the Idaho State Bar from
1978 to 1981, and President in 1981. He was also President of the Silver
Institute, a trade association of miners and refiners of silver from the
U.S., Canada, South America, and Europe from 1996 to 1998.
Mr. Simko's extensive background includes private practice from 1967 to
1984 where his expertise was in the areas of corporate law, securities
litigation, and mining. At Moffatt Thomas his practice is centered on
corporate law, public offerings, private placements, business combinations,
and debt restructuring.
Idaho Bancorp is the holding company of Idaho Banking Company. Idaho
Banking Company, a state-chartered commercial bank and member of the
Federal Reserve, was organized in 1996 and operates four branch offices,
and a construction & mortgage home loan center. The Bank serves clients
throughout southwestern Idaho.
