Peugeot has an overall measure of the total greenhouse gas emissions of its vehicles - unique among big automakers. But Peugeot also looks at its cars' impact on road safety and urban sprawl. It first talked to stakeholders - like city dwellers, drivers, and roadside communities - then developed indicators like noise emissions that its engineers could aim to reduce in new models.
