What do you do? I try to add value in every area of an actor's career - identifying, creating, and managing opportunities. I strategize and reassess the career game plan. And I make sure everybody is aware of everything. Major in college? Psychology and economics [at Wesleyan University in Connecticut] - both useful for what I do. They go hand in hand. What did you want to be when you grew up? A weatherman. They always seem to have so much fun on the job. Most stressful part of your job? I always feel like there's something more I can do. How many hours a day are you on the phone? I'd be too scared to say that aloud. I'm probably on the phone more than I'm not on the phone. Best tip? Always communicate. Best technique for landing a new client? Concentrate on the people you represent and not those you potentially could. Worst technique? Lying. Work uniform? Jeans, dress shirt, and baseball hat. I don't go straight home after work, so it doubles as my after-hours outfit. Favorite designer? Calvin Klein. What would you never be caught dead wearing? A Speedo. Favorite lunch spot? Jan's coffee shop on Beverly Boulevard. It reminds me of being in New York, and I never run into anybody. Favorite gadgets? My Motorola BlackBerry, Motorola Razr, and video iPod. I'm currently listening to a lot of Supertramp. Car? I'm a true New Yorker—I don't even know how to drive. I get driven around by my assistant in my vintage Camaro. Most popular misconception of your job? That anybody could do it. Ever been thanked in an Oscar speech? Yes. Hilary Swank did, and it felt great. |
