Unlike mere cellphones, smartphones have operating systems you might want to pay attention to. For e-mail, calendar and contacts, the BlackBerry OS is hard to beat. For multimedia, Windows Mobile (latest version) and Symbian, the global market share leader, do better. Users love Palm OS, but it's losing market share.
