Even though you can now experience Thomas Keller's perfectionism here in New York, the French Laundry is still well worth the trip, especially when you factor in the romance of Napa Valley. Many of his dishes have become icons of contemporary cuisine. I love the tiny, crunchy cones he fills with salmon tartare or his famous "pearls and oysters," made with tapioca and white sturgeon caviar.
