$200,000 a bottle
With cognac selling for less than $50 a bottle, enjoying a glass after dinner is hardly a luxury anymore. But taking just a sip of this limited-production Hennessy cognac would be a totally unique experience. Hennessy, a spirits division of LVMH's Moët Hennessy, released a $200,000 bottle of Beauté du Siècle earlier this year, only 100 of which will be available.
It's the house's best blend, of course. But the exorbitant price is mostly a function of the extraordinary bottle the liquor comes in, which was designed by the contemporary French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel.
Each collectible bottle comes with four gold-leaf adorned glasses which are housed in an aluminum-and-glass chest decorated with two colored Venetian glass beads.
