Dodge Challenger ready to rumble

Built on the same basic engineering as the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans, the SRT-8 Challenger is powered by a 6.1-liter, V-8 engine capable of producing 425 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.

The Challenger SRT-8 has a manually-shiftable 5-speed automatic transmission and rides on 20-inch aluminum wheels.The car's zero-to-60 time is estimated to be just over five seconds.

The look of the production Challenger is actually somewhat closer to the classic original than to the concept car unveiled during the 2006 Chicago Auto Show. Dodge's new signature crosshair grill has been replaced with a simpler black screen.

The inside pair of "headlights" is actually a pair of turn signals.
