Italian oil company ENI saw 2007 profits climb more than 18% year-over-year, helped by a series of acquisitions in the Gulf of Mexico, Congo and Alaska. ENI has also signed several agreements with Russia's Gazprom.

Business sustainability combined with outstanding financial results last year saw the company's inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.
