Philly's Xochitl restaurant created a custom Frida Kahlo-inspired menu to complement the local art museum's blockbuster exhibition of the Mexican painter's work. FSB tagged along for a peak at the culinary creations.
Xochitl, in Philadelphia, is running a special Frida Kahlo-inspired menu through May 18, to coincide with the Philadelphia Museum of Art's exhibition of Kahlo's paintings.
Xochitl chef and co-owner Dionicio Jimenez didn't have to veer far to conceptualize the menu: Kahlo lived in Mexico City, not far from Jimenez's hometown of Puebla, where Xochitl's tastes were rooted.
