A unified color scheme
"The color scheme is really unattractive, with random colors everywhere" says McClure. "Pick a simple, sharp color palate and stick with it throughout the site. I'd suggest more natural colors."

"Try one dominant color and one supporting color," says Savoie. "Try fotolia.com and templatemonster.com. For $300 to $400 you can really improve the look of the site." "Kudos to the business owner for managing a shopping cart with lots of products," says Savoie. "That takes a lot of time and effort." But that doesn't mean it's perfect. Josh Cyr, also of Harbour Light, notices that when items are added to the cart, the dark blue box will have dark blue text, which can be difficult to read.

"It should be clear that you added a product and can check out easily," says Cyr. "In general, it's important to keep updating your shopping cart software, because it contains security fixes."
