"The SBA approach is anchored in an old model, a less-sophisticated nature of doing business. It is ill-equipped to move into this socially minded time. It needs to meet the values of new generation.
I look at the SBA as a roof that continues to get patched, but eventually that won't work anymore. You need to tear the whole thing down to make it seamless.
The small business development centers, for instance, need an overhaul. They don't have the knowledge, resources or ability to recognize new models of business.
For example, the SBDCs can help with general marketing, but they don't have the understanding and the knowledge of forward-thinking marketing strategies such as social networks online."
