Think of it as the rich man's Chevy Volt. A product of Fisker Automotive, the Karma is a range-extended electric luxury sedan. It has two driving modes, "Stealth" and "Sport."
Powered by a pair of 201-horsepower electric motors, it also has a 260-horsepower engine that will generate additional electricity for long-range driving.
In "Stealth" mode it can drive up to 50 miles on electric power alone after a full charge. In "Sport" mode, electric power is generated by the gasoline engine, providing a full range of 300 miles.
Fisker hopes to start production this year. Prices start at $87,900, but federal tax credits could take that down to $80,400.
