What makes it great: Glover Park

Nominated by: Eric Baker, 19, student

When you go the city center at Glover Park, it's real calm and you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. All the shops are around the park and there's a big fountain the middle.... Every Saturday they have an open air market all around the square [where] local vendors sell anything from fresh flowers to vegetables. A lot of vendors do their own painting and photographs of Marietta and Kennesaw Mountain, and they sell those during the market. It's real nice because everyone comes out for it, it's real relaxing.

It feels like you're a part of history because you're surrounded by history.... Sitting on a bench and looking at the trunks of the trees, [you're] not even able to wrap your arms around them because they're so big. You know they've been there since they first made the square 175 years ago.
