Carolynne Canoll - Holding steady

Cannoll, a Newport resident, is a production specialist at an electronics manufacturer. She is 52.

My investments dropped. I lost a lot of money and I'm still in denial. I'm not throwing any money into the game.

I've got my job. I bought my house at a time that was good to buy. I'm still living within my means.

So I'm just holding steady. I'm not panicking. I'm living very conservatively but I always have.

I'm not really planning any big trips. Instead of 10-day vacations, I'm planning four-day weekends. I'm still eating out a few times a week.
