Pizza party
In addition to a standard thank you note, Jake Becker, 37, followed up an interview at an online gambling site in Portland Oregon by hosting a surprise pizza party for the entire office.

"It could have looked bad, but as it turned out they did indeed appreciate it and sent me a gracious online thank you card," he said.

Unfortunately though, it did not translate into a job offer.

Outcome: nice try
