A big winner in the spring of 2009, the Southern grocery store chain saw its stock plunge last fall after reporting a quarterly loss and lowering its earnings forecast.
Winn-Dixie, which emerged from bankruptcy in 2006, has made strides in its turnaround plan, which includes remodeling its stores. But its sector has been hit hard by price wars, consumer cutbacks, and competition from low cost rival Wal-Mart.
