Catalyst Health Solutions contracts with state and local governments, private employers, unions and others to design and run the prescription drug portion of their health benefit programs. Mostly operating under the Catalyst Rx brand, the firm processes claims through a network of 63,000 pharmacies as well as its newly acquired prescription mail service.

In the three consecutive years the company has landed on our list, Catalyst has expanded through acquisitions into hospice care and the small- to mid-sized employer market. Three-year average earnings-per-share growth is 24%, while annualized revenues grew 30% for the period.
