Before serving alongside George W. Bush, Cheney was the chief executive and chairman of Halliburton, one of the world's largest oil and gas services companies. He also served as the country's Defense Secretary under George H.W. Bush and oversaw Operation Desert Storm. He is widely regarded as one of the most powerful vice presidents in history.
