I have wanted a Haflinger (draft pony) for 20 years. I found a 16-year-old mare at a great price and I found a barn with an indoor arena very close by to board her at since I have to travel quite a bit.
It has been so worth it and I am so happy going to see her everyday and getting my riding legs again. I arrange my day around when I am going to ride and have adjusted my appointments accordingly. It has been expensive -- what with the vet bills, equine chiropractor, equine dentist, farrier work, etc. -- but well worth it.
