Cox has sculpted with glass for more than 30 years and his pieces adorn public collections, such as the Corning Museum of Glass, and private ones, including Elton John. He started doing the blown glass and wood wall sculptures only recently.
The glass parts can look like flames licking up the wall. "It can replace the video yule log," jokes Cox. Or they can resemble waves breaking on the shore, a thicket of reeds or prairie grass. Whatever the image, they certainly make a bold visual statement.
Prices start around $2,000.
