For Bill and Elaine Diekmann, McDonald's is a way of life that started about 40 years ago.
Both started their careers as entry-level crew members at McDonald's in high school. They have since married and both become franchise owners.
"When we say 'McJob' we're proud of that," Elaine said. "There's nothing to be ashamed of working at McDonald's."
Now, they're looking to hire three to five people at both their two Manhattan locations, as part of the McDonald's nationwide jobs spree.
"We're looking for a crew with high energy -- people who have a willingness to be part of a team," Elaine said.
