"I need a better job, plain and simple," said Page, who currently works for Metro newspaper, handing out tabloids to morning commuters on the subway.
"It's a nice job, it's just not enough pay and not enough hours," he said.
While he's not sure whether McDonald's will offer him a higher wage, he's at least hoping to boost his income by putting in more hours.
McDonald's restaurants typically have a starting wage of at least $8 an hour, according to a company spokeswoman.
