4. Some pros like it hot, others go cold
A fix could cost you as little as $400 for a minor infestation -- or $2,000 and up for a 2,000-square-foot home if the bugs are everywhere.
Ask several pros what they charge (by the room, by the square footage) and what techniques they use. Pest pros typically employ a combination of treatments, including heating, freezing, and applying pesticides. Heating a sealed room to 113° or more is one of the most effective fixes, but it's 20% to 30% more expensive than other treatments because of the costly equipment involved.
