If you're a couch potato, Peel is for you. The free app helps you find new TV shows to watch. Want to kick your sloth up a notch? Spend $100 on a Peel controller, available through the Apple Store, and you won't even have to reach for the remote. It will control your entire home entertainment system through your iPhone.

But too much sloth can be bad for the waistline. To fight that, you'll want Meal Snap, an easier alternative to traditional calorie-counting apps. Instead of painstakingly entering a record of what you've eaten, the $2.99 tool lets you snap photos of your meals, and will deliver an estimated calorie count and a list of ingredients. The crew won't go into specifics about how the software calculates its estimates, which they insist is "Magic. Pure Magic."
