Everyone knows that we live in a global society, but most Americans lack any real global knowledge.
In 2008, I started Next Step China to offer flexible and affordable Chinese language immersion programs, as well as consultation services to help people become better acquainted with China.
We market to Americans, so we want Americans to sell the program.
We seek people who have at least visited or, if possible, have worked or studied in China. But there aren't that many. Most people stay in China after moving there. And those who do come back find a job quickly.
Another problem? We have seen interest from people who have participated in and enjoyed our program, but they don't have the sales and marketing skills. Meanwhile, the sales and marketing people who we encounter don't have any international experience.
We have averaged 160% growth in the last three years, but I know we could easily get that to 200% to 300% if we have more salespeople.
