I'm still not sure what a "modern, progressive burger company" is supposed to be.
But new McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook recovered nicely after initially being criticized for offering too many marketing buzzwords and not a real plan to get the struggling fast food chain back on track.
Easterbrook, who succeeded Don Thompson at the fast food giant in March, has done wonders since then. The company listened to complaints about its food and started to offer more customized options on its menu.
Finally! McDonald's is back
It worked. In October. the company reported its first increase in same-store sales in the U.S. in two years.
And that was before McDonald's (MCD) made breakfast an all day thing -- which seems to be a big hit with customers.
Wall Street is lovin' the McTurnaround as well. The stock is up 25% this year and near its record high.
