After the sale success of Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, Airbus launched the all-new A350XWB -- an advanced airliner built with carbon fiber composite technology.

Airbus caught the aviation world by surprise when it made an unannounced flyover of its prototype at the 2013 air show just days after it made its maiden flight.

The flyby was only the A350's third time in the air.
