The company that revolutionized the music and mobile industries with its iPod and iPhone upped the ante this year by introducing the iPad. Apple shipped 3.3 million of the tablet computers in the quarter it was introduced, and also posted record Mac computer sales.

But the biggest driver of profits for the tech giant has been the iPhone. "Antennagate" aside, demand for Apple's new iPhone 4, which boasts video chat and a sharper display, has outstripped supply for months. Sales of iPhones and related services nearly doubled for the first nine months of 2010, compared to the year-ago period.
