EADS is the parent company of Airbus. Airbus has 56,000 workers in Germany, France, Spain, and Britain. Each country has a vested interest in retaining those jobs. That has led to an intracontinental tug of war, causing inefficiencies as segments are shipped back and forth across borders and setting the stage for the wiring problems.
