Sears is making a steady comeback under money-manager-turned-CEO Eddie Lampert, who in his annual letter to shareholders pledged to show "discipline" by not opening any new stores - unlike Wal-Mart and Target. Revenues grew 8% for the year, with profits jumping 74% to $1.5 billion, following its costly merger with formerly bankrupt Kmart.
