The AltiTech2 measures altitude, temperature, atmospheric pressure, and time. Its maker, based in Asheville, N.C., also sells compasses and other navigational tools, as well as heart-rate monitors and MP3 players. Most hikers wear altimeters on their wrists, but the Altitech2 attaches to clothing with a clip, eliminating body heat interference on temperature readings. www.highgear.com
