For the 14th year in a row, Lexus took the highest rank in vehicle dependability, according to J.D. Power and Associates. The luxury division of Toyota was ranked first in 6 categories - the most of any make in the study - including: entry premium vehicle, midsize premium car, large premium car, premium sporty car and midsize premium SUV.

After Lexus, the remaining top five most reliable brands were: Mercury, Cadillac, Toyota and Acura.

Of the 38 brands in the study, SAAB showed the most improvement in reliability. But the Swedish automaker still ranks below the industry average, along with Volvo, HUMMER, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, to name a few.

British brand Land Rover was at the bottom of the list.
