The Love Guru
Release date: June 20
Studio: Paramount VIAB

Right around the time hero-fatigue begins to set in, moviegoers will get a hefty dose of comedy with "The Love Guru" and "Get Smart" both coming out the weekend of June 20.

"The Love Guru" is the first Mike Myers live-action adult vehicle since the infinitely quotable Austin Powers trilogy. In it, Myers plays the Guru Pitka, an Eastern mystic with plans to break into the self-help business. Myers, of course, was also the voice of Shrek.

Pitka has a lot in common with Austin Powers, not the least of which is his way with women. But if the film feels too much like a rehash of the international man of mystery, it could fall short.

On the other hand, if you can't get enough of bumbling secret agents, there's "Get Smart." The film is a remake of the 60s television show of the same name and stars Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart and Anne Hathaway as Agent 99.

Either way, both films stand a decent chance at blockbuster status. "Audiences are responding well to the comedies out so far," Bock said in reference to April's "Baby Mama" and "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay."
