For about half the price of a Lexus LS, the Avalon provides luxury-like trim and features all with more -- lots more -- rear legroom.
Of course, the Avalon doesn't offer the engine power or the silky-smooth 8-speed eight speed transmission the LS has and its overall interior quality isn't quite up to Lexus levels. After all, that extra money does pay for something.
Still, the Avalon Limited's 268 horsepower V6 is more enough to get the job done while providing good fuel economy for a car this spacious.
The ride is definitely tuned for comfort rather than road feel. In fact, driving Avalon feels almost like sitting in a comfy chair playing a rather dull video game. But for a lot of drivers, that will suit them just fine.
