A "Joe Sixpack" type of town 30 minutes from Atlantic Ocean beaches, Deltona offers house hunters lots of value. Post-bust buyers can snap up great properties for less than half the prices paid at the top of the market -- especially now that the median home price has plunged below $100,000.

Recreationally, Deltona has much to offer. It's less than an hour to Walt Disney World -- many residents commute to the Orlando area -- and it's in some of the best lake country in the state, with excellent boating, sailing and bass fishing.
